Geographic Area

If you don’t have access to the following screens, please contact the Admin to ask for the appropriate access rights.

A user in the SMART platform:

  • is specifically associated to a user profile characterized by access rights.
  • belongs to one or several geographical area(s).

The « Geographical area management » is then a key feature for user profile management. It allows to list and manage (create, delete and modify) all the centers involved in the study.

Each modification in study management options involved a de-connection / connection step from the platform in order to validate it and this modification becomes effective.

Geographical areas are managed from the “Geographical area management” option in the Builder. To access to Builder, the user clicks on the icon as indicated below.

Then the user selects the Geographic area management option clicking as seen below.

The list of the different geographical areas already created is indicated.

One geographical area is defined by 3 levels (n1, n2, n3).

These levels can correspond to any kind of geographical entities.

For example :

  • n1 = continent or area
  • n2 = country
  • n3 = medical center or hospital

By default, a Test Area (n1), Test Country (n2) and Test Center (n3) are created.

In order to edit a geographical area informations, just click on the name of the area (as indicated in 1).

In order to add a new geographical area, click on (as shown in 2):

  • Area for creating a new n1 geographic level
  • Country for creating a new n2 geographic level
  • Center for creating a new n3 geographic level

Clicking as shown in 3, the user can display all the user profiles related to each geographic area.

Then fill in the requested information.

The site code is determined by the administrator of the project in agreement with the protocol of the study.
