CRF – Section – Page – Chapter – Fields

Each section can be visualized or not by the users.

Each user belongs to a specific single user profile.

Each user profile is characterized by a specific access to one or a specific set of sections.

The management of the levels of access allows to determine whether the section can be displayed or not for a user profile.

The pages, chapters and fields can be visualized by specific user profile through the management of the hidden properties (in the page, chapter and field characteristics).

In summary:

The visibility for the user is managed:

  • through the level of access for sections
  • through the hidden properties for pages, chapters and fields

General organization of the eCRF

The eCRF is divided in different sections corresponding to the different steps of the study and each section contains several pages.

Chapters containing fields compose each page.

Fields displayed in grey correspond to fields automatically calculated by the platform. They can not be filled by the user.

A field can have three different levels of compulsory:

  • Not requested: the page can be saved even if the field is not filled
  • Soft requested: the page can be saved if the field is not filled but a warning message will remind the user to fill the field.

In the front office the field will be marked by a orange asterisk.

  • Hard requested: the page can be saved if the field is not filled but the page will have a “Missing Data” status.

In the front office the field will be marked by a red asterisk.

This compulsory option allows the monitor to check the missing value through the indicators.
