SMART is a web based platform developed to manage clinical studies. It is dedicated to healthcare professional and all stakeholders involved in clinical studies.
It has been developed according to the requirements of CFR part 11 established by the FDA.
It is compatible with the main web browsers :
- Google Chrome,
- Mozilla Firefox,
- Internet explorer (version 10 and 11)
The SMART platform exists under three different environments:
- the development environment
- the beta testing environment
- the production environment
Each environment has various security levels, not only at the infrastructure level but also at the user level (creation of secured profiles and passwords).
The development environment
– is characterized by the prefix “dev” in the URL address of the platform
– allows to develop and set up the main architecture, properties and functionalities of the e-CRF
– is dedicated to the builders and administrators
The beta environment
– involves the users
– allows the users to test the different features of the platform (cross check, workflow, …)
– allows the deposit of data bases
– provides a training and testing environment for new users
– keeps available all along the study (although regular clean-up of the data base are scheduled)
For both environments the data are hosted by the BePATIENT company.
The production environment
- is created once the project enters into its “go live” phase
- involves the domain management and the SSL key, the creation of a personalized, fully secured URL
In this environment, data are hosted by OVH company, specialized in secured clinical data hosting. In case of any problem the delay of data retention is 24 hours long. However this delay can be shortened and adapted to each customer need.
